Member Spotlight Part 1: Victoria Hathaway of the Bob Lucido Team’s Silver Group

It’s high time I introduce you to Victoria Hathaway, an absolute dynamo who is doing some groundbreaking work as Director of the Silver Group, the seniors real estate division of the Bob Lucido Team of Keller Williams Select Realtors in Baltimore.

I’m completely excited to point the spotlight on Victoria for several reasons. First of all, she is blessed with a warm, servant’s heart and is completely dedicated to connecting with seniors and their families and doing the utmost to serve them in a bountiful way. Once you know her, it’s easy to understand how she quickly gains, earns, and fulfills the trust of all those she works with. Secondly, she is a thorough professional who is helping to draw the blueprint for how large real estate teams can profit handsomely when they commit resources and strategic planning to the seniors market.

Victoria’s role is unique in that Lucido has created a true “senior division” and placed Victoria at the helm. She gets to do what she is especially skilled at — serving seniors and creating lasting relationships — allowing the licensed agents (i.e. Bob and others on the team) to shine at their specialties – listing, selling, marketing, and closing real estate.

The Silver Group was already doing pretty great things (The Bob Lucido Team – formerly the top producing Re/Max Team in Maryland – is the #1 producing sales team in the entire state of Maryland for Keller Williams Realty) when, in Victoria’s quest for more marketing tools and information, they connected with us at the Seniors Real Estate Institute. Subsequently, Victoria became a licensee of the Downsizing Made Easy presentation system and a graduate of the Success in Seniors Real Estate course, earning her credentials as a Certified Senior Housing Professional.

Victoria’s “uniqueness” is highlighted by the fact that, until very recently, she was NOT a licensed real estate agent. In fact, her foray into real estate came by way of a different channel. A native of the area, Vic (as she’s called by her pals) has a degree in communications and worked in the healthcare field early in her career. After a break to raise her children, Victoria became a full-time family caregiver for both of her parents (her father suffered from Alzheimer’s) and gained valuable experience in the extensive issues faced by seniors and their adult children during such stressful times.

When the time came for her to return to the “corporate” world, she figured her background in communications, healthcare, and experience as a family caregiver would make her an ideal candidate for a position with a senior retirement community. But Bob and Tracy Lucido were longtime friends and had a very different idea.

“Bob and Tracy had watched all I was doing and learning and invited me to go away from the senior community work search and to put together a program for all of their seniors/families coping with the very same issues in a real estate paradigm,” remembers Victoria. “I accepted the challenge and began months of research into all things seniors real estate.”

Part of that development and her own education involved earning the Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) credential from the Society of Certified Senior Advisors and the Certified Senior Housing Professional (CSHP) designation from the Seniors Real Estate Institute

Victoria and the Silver Group of the Bob Lucido Team super-serve those clients with extreme attention to detail and a true team concept that – as far as I know – no other group is implementing. And that is incredibly smart!

In case you haven’t noticed, I’m a big fan of Victoria and the visionary approach of the Silver Group. I could go on and on and on…and, in fact, I do in a separate article highlighting some team building and lead generation strategies Victoria shared with us in this exclusive interview.
