Willy and Stacy Nelson Honored with the Legacy Leader Award
At this year’s 11th Annual Legacy Conference in Oklahoma City, we had the privilege of honoring Willy and Stacy Nelson of Kansas City with the Legacy Leader Award.
This award is not given lightly. Each year, it recognizes residential real estate professionals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, advocacy, and service to mature homeowners and their families—particularly during late-life transitions such as downsizing, relocating, or moving to senior living communities.
Willy and Stacy embody that standard.
With a combined 20 years of real estate experience, they have built a practice centered on helping older adults make confident, informed decisions about their next chapter. Their work goes far beyond the transaction. They provide education. They offer steady guidance. They walk alongside families through emotionally and logistically complex decisions.
As Stacy shared during the conference:
“Our passion is helping people make decisions that align with their goals, values, and quality of life. Moving later in life isn’t just about selling a home—it’s about creating peace of mind and honoring someone’s life story.”
As Certified Senior Housing Professionals®, Willy and Stacy have completed specialized training in late-life relocation planning and senior housing. They regularly collaborate with senior living communities to simplify complex transitions and ensure their clients are informed every step of the way.
What also sets them apart is their broader commitment to older adults in their community. In addition to their real estate services, they coordinate local outings and international travel excursions for older adults—creating opportunities for connection, adventure, and lifelong learning. Their mission is not simply about moving people. It is about supporting meaningful living.
From our perspective at SREI, their impact is both professional and personal.
“Willy and Stacy exemplify what it means to lead with heart and purpose,” Nikki Buckelew, SREI’s Co-Founder and CEO, shared at the conference. “They are trusted advocates who ensure that mature adults are supported, informed, and treated with respect through every phase of the relocation process.”
The Legacy Leader Award honors those who demonstrate exceptional professionalism, community engagement, and measurable impact on an underserved and often overlooked older adult demographic. Willy and Stacy do that consistently—quietly, steadily, and without seeking recognition.
We are proud to call them members of our community.
Please join us in congratulating Willy and Stacy Nelson on this well-deserved honor.
