SOCIAL MEDIA

While having a social media presence makes us “feel” like we are being seen and the word is getting out, the fact is, social media has very little impact on connecting with NEW people. It is actually a better tool for staying in touch with current contacts and catching up with those from the past.

Where social media can be helpful is image BUILDING. Everyone looks better online, right? Of course! So, even if you are newer to this niche, you can begin to showcase your expertise by posting on social media.

Connecting with prospective professional platform members on social media may be good for nurturing relationships or making initial connections, but it alone is not going to SOLIDIFY your place in their referral network. You still have to meet in person and follow the Connect – Invite – Collaborate – Propose Model.

Our advice – Use social media as a tool, but don’t spend too much time there. Your time is better spent talking to real people in person or by phone.
