Creating Positive Habits

Learning, implementing, and making something new a part of your lifestyle requires consistency, repetition, and commitment. It’s unrealistic to expect anything new or uncomfortable will magically become part of your everyday routine without a bit of effort. There are a few things you can do, however, to turn new behaviors into positive habits.

Write down your goals. Here are a few goal categories for consideration:

  1. Number of core advocates (A+ contacts) you would like to develop over a specific period of time.
  2. Number of referrals you intend to generate through your activities.
  3. How many new relationships you want to create (additions to your database).

Create goals that are meaningful to you! The goals you set should energize vs. deplete you when you think about working toward them.

Revisit your WHY

As time marches on, we tend to forget why we started down any particular path. It’s critical to evaluate, not only your goal(s), but WHY you set those goals. What is important to you about creating core advocates, connecting with the people you know and care about, and increasing awareness about what you do and how you do it?
