Research your local MLS for 55+ communities and other properties that would be ideal for downsizing seniors or multi-generational households with an elder family member. You may find it helpful to begin creating a binder, spreadsheet or other document to organize and track these neighborhoods.
Write a brief summary of your findings. Include your observations about the availability (or lack of availability) and affordability of properties suitable for older adults who want to age in place in your market. Also note how your MLS organizes these properties. For example, is it easy to search for 55+ deed restricted homes and maintenance free properties, or does it require a lot of work to locate suitable options?
