Your personal platform is made up of “your people”
Remember… the people who know you and trust you don’t need for you to sell them, they merely need to understand what you do, how you do it, and how they can help! They want to understand what you are passionate about and why – then they want to get behind you to further your cause.
But you have to ask!
People are busy. There is lots of noise out there and to use an old cliche, “The squeaky wheel gets the grease.” In other words, whatever is top of mind is what keeps people’s attention.
Lastly, rather than thinking of reaching out to call your contacts as simply a method for getting more business (i.e. lead generation), think of it more like nurturing relationships and staying in touch – purposefully.
